Riya Electricals was founded in June 2007 by Er. N. Lokadasan BSc (Engg.), a retired Scientist/Engineer from ISRO who had earlier worked as the Head of the Construction and Maintenance Division. With his strong technical know-how and focus on quality, he opened the shop in a small building near the Mahadeva Temple at Sreekariyam. From small beginnings, the shop gained the confidence of the local people and earned dealership from most of India's top electrical brands.

Through hard work, honesty, and commitment, Mr. Lokadasan earned a reputation that consumers could trust. Riya Electricals persisted and continued to do business with the same commitment and passion even during difficult times during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the shop has moved to a bigger and more convenient place at the Half Moon Square building, near Chenthi junction, opposite St. Mary's Roman Cathaholic Church, with exclusive parking space for customers.
